European added value and impact

1) The bilateral Comenius Partnership is focused on  acquiring the knowledge and skills of Latvian, Greek and English, so it will definitely encourage the learning of modern foreign languages.
2) To ensure effective communication and cooperation through innovative ICT-based content and services.
3) It will raise teachers' awareness of other countries educational systems, values and practices.
4) It will contribute to the development of new teaching materials and collection of authentic resources/material.
5) We aim to improve the communication skills in the mother tongue and especially in the foreign languages.
6) The exchanges of classes and the active work in the Partnership will raise our self-confidence, the students' levels of self  awareness, self improvement, their potentials for achievements, their opportunities to acquire new knowledge, perspectives and skills and it will increase motivation and enjoyment for both students and teachers. It will broaden everyone's horizons.
7) By doing voluntary work for the local community the students will develop a sense of initiative and unselfishness and it will help them to become active and responsible European citizens ready to share, offer, acknowledge and accept diversity.

We expect that Partnership activities will have the following impact:
1) the project will have a positive effect on the students' attitude/motivation towards language learning:
Namely: a) they will improve their command of English,
                b) they will get at least the basics of another foreign language - not very  widely spread like Latvian and Greek,
                c) they will even view their mother tongues from a different perspective as it will be taught to others or used for
                   communication with foreigners.
2) the students will become more autonomous  learners in general,
3) the students will use new technologies to communicate and stage the project,
4) the students will learn about the culture and traditions of the partner country,
5) the students will make new friends from abroad and share, compare and contrast with them the details of their daily routine
6) the students will be more aware of the social and civic problems in society,
7) the students' and teachers' involvement in the project will make them more tolerant of other cultures and ways of life,
8) the teachers involved in the project will benefit professionally by being introduced to different methods, systems and materials,
9) as a result of the Partnership there will be an effect on students' plans for further study, work experience or career choice,
10) this Partnership may lead to the school's involvement in further European/international projects,
11) other teachers may be motivated to participate in new projects
12) on the whole, the Partnership will make a difference to the whole school and will have an impact on the local community, too.
